We provide a lovely, hearty Yorkshire Breakfast here at Thornton Lodge. Served in the oak panelled Dining Room between 8.30am and 9.15am guests are able to sample the delights of our local butcher - Hammonds of Bainbridge. They make amazingly herby Cumberland type sausages and cut me gorgeous thick sliced bacon. The Black pudding is made locally at Leaming Bar and I use large open cup local mushrooms and local free range eggs, mostly laid by my own girls, some of which like to wander around the garden. All of the breakfast ingredients are of the highest quality and I take pride in ensuring each and every guest has a breakfast that fortifies them for the days activities. That said, if you just want tea and toast I'll happily respect your wishes. For the last few years guests have been enjoying my home made jams and marmalades - I love making them, especially if the flavours are a bit different and I can use the fruit from my walled garden.
