Largest room

£120 for the room per night for 2 people bed and breakfast

When I show guests into this room they invariably start grinning - often closely followed by claims that they could hold a dance in the room. It really is lovely and large - around 11m x 5.5m in total.

It was originally the main portion of the billiard room and retains the intricate cornice work from that time along with panelling around the lower part of the walls. The room later formed part of the ground floor dormitory when the house was a childrens TB hospital in the 1940's and 50's and latterly comprised 3 bedrooms and a wing bathroom when the house was a nursing home. It was a labour of love having the cornicework and pannelling restored and added to in order to make the room feel whole again.

With 14ft high ceilings, picture rails and 5 huge sash windows, including the massive east facing bay, it has stacks of charm. There are two large Edwardian wardrobes in the room adding to the balance of period features against the contemporary comforts of the two leather sofas from which to watch the extremely large freeview tv, whilst the barley twist table and chairs in the bay window provide a lovely vantage point from which to watch the wildlife in the garden.

The room has a fridge with fresh milk and a large selection of hot drinks, including an array of speciality teas and ground coffee.

The 6ft bed has lovely egyptian cotton bedding and there are luxury towels and white company toiletries in the ensuite bathroom.
