and thank you so much for viewing our website.
Located close to Hawes and Aysgarth Falls, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Thornton Lodge provides a peaceful haven amid fine period features and modern comforts. Set in large 3 acre grounds, a short distance outside the hamlet of Thornton Rust, this lovely old house offers a comfortable and welcoming escape from the bustle of todays hurried lifestyles.
Please check out our rooms if you're looking for a relaxed stay in very agreeable surroundings. From the high quality sprung beds, egyptian cotton bedding, white company toiletries, varied in room hot drink choices, modern ensuite bathrooms and tasteful decor you can easily see why this has remained one of North Yorkshires highest rated getaways since I opened for guests in 2006. Add to that the large rooms, reasonable rates, beautiful setting, genuinely warm welcome and delicious breakfasts and there really is no reason not to give us a try...If that's not enough to tempt you, I have now been inspected and accepted as a Wolsey Lodge - currently the only one in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Please telephone or email me to make a reservation enquiry. Please note we do not accept dogs at any time or children under the age of 8 years. We are also bookable online should that be more convenient for you. If you do want to book online please do use my own website as that is the only place with all my availability loaded and I promise you will get the very best rates and service by booking directly.
However you choose to book, I'd be delighted to welcome you to Thornton Lodge, to experience one of Yorkshire's finest luxury five star bed and breakfast holiday destinations, set in the beautiful surroundings shown below. I'm open for b&b from April through to the end of September each year.
For guests who particularly like it to be quiet, please note that thanks to a former Tory MP who claimed on expenses to have his moat cleaned and was made a Lord in August 2015, Percy, my beautiful peacock who kept me company for 8 fantastic years, is no longer here. For this reason I absolutely do not allow people to fetch dogs to the house under the auspices of their sleeping in the car - I have precious pet hens roaming the garden and losing Percy broke my heart.
Thanks again, Vanessa
