Welcome to the Thornton Lodge website. We offer luxurious Country House 5 star bed and breakfast (dinner by arrangement), from an idyllic setting above the River Ure in Wensleydale. Located close to Hawes and Aysgarth Falls, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, we provide a peaceful haven amid fine period features and modern comforts.

The Dales towns of Leyburn and Bedale lie to the East of us, Harrogate, York and Leeds to the South, whilst the Lake District is just an hour to the West. Swaledale is our next door neighbour, making Wensleydale a perfect base to explore this wonderful part of England.

We are open for individual bookings from April to September, with this beautiful large country house available for exclusive hire by parties and group bookings during winter and spring. Please view our Special Events page for details of our fabulous winter weekend breaks, available on an exclusive hire basis, either catered or self catering. If you are looking for a large country house in North Yorkshire for a celebration event it is impossible to find a more perfect property than Thornton Lodge.
